Becky Cholewka: Many people don’t have an estate plan, because they don’t think they’re wealthy enough. They don’t have a second home, or a boat on the lake. But estate planning is so much more than that.
Let’s imagine for a moment that you’re in a car accident. Does someone have access to your financial accounts to pay your mortgage, while you’re laid up in the hospital?
What if you slipped into a coma? Does your family know what your wishes are, to be left on life support or not? What happens if you were to die, who’s going to take care of your kids and your pets?
We never know what or when is going to happen to us. Estate planning is all about protecting our family. Let’s get started before it’s too late.
